ANA Holdings plans to take full control of Japanese regional airlines Airdo and Solaseed Air

ANA already owns more than 15% of RegionalPlus Wings, Jiji Press reported via The Japan Times. The two sides signed a letter of intent, the swap ratio has not been set, and a final agreement is expected by the end of December 2026, Aviation.Direct reported. Airdo mainly serves routes to and from Hokkaido, and Solaseed Air flies mainly in Kyushu and Okinawa; both share codes with All Nippon Airways.

ANA plans to keep the two brands for now, and changes to schedules and frequencies could begin as early as summer 2028, Jiji reported. ANA said separately that its net profit for April to September fell 11.8%, partly because of higher fuel costs.

Why it matters: The deal would bring two of Japan's midsize domestic airlines fully under the country's largest airline group as domestic carriers face higher costs and weaker business travel demand.
