People Inc. lays off 195 employees, about 6% of staff, mostly in print and legacy web

Vogel wrote that "the vast majority" of those affected work in the company's print and legacy web businesses, and that the company has added 320 employees so far in 2026 and plans further investment in 2027, according to the memo published by Variety. The New York Times first reported the cuts, TheWrap said.

The company eliminated 226 jobs in October 2025, the Des Moines Register reported. People Inc. is a unit of People Incorporated, formerly IAC, which is scheduled to report third-quarter results on Nov. 3, Variety reported.

Why it matters: The cuts are the latest job reductions at a major U.S. publisher as print declines; Variety reported that the company's print revenue fell 16% in the second quarter.
