Channel 4 to launch inside Disney+ in the UK and Ireland in early 2027

The shows will sit in a Channel 4-branded section of Disney+, the companies said. The first same-day titles named include the drama "Maya" with Bella Ramsey, the comedy "Stepping Up" and the reality format "Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins." Financial terms were not disclosed.

Channel 4 is contending with a tough advertising market, Reuters reported. The broadcaster said last month it would cut about 340 jobs, more than a quarter of its workforce, according to Reuters.

Why it matters: The deal puts a free-to-air public broadcaster's live channel inside a global subscription streamer, a new route for UK broadcasters to reach viewers who have moved to streaming.
