Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' extends Hot 100 record with 25th week at No. 1

The song rose from No. 2 as Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" fell to No. 5 after three weeks on top. Three songs entered the top five: Tate McRae's "Housewife" debuted at No. 2, Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan's "Expectations" jumped from No. 63 to No. 3 after a remix adding Roan, and Zach Bryan's "Lies," featuring Lana Del Rey, opened at No. 4, according to Billboard and Variety.

"Choosin' Texas" drew 20 million official U.S. streams and 58.6 million in radio audience in the Oct. 16-22 tracking week, according to Billboard, which compiles the chart with data provider Luminate. Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is second on the all-time list with 22 weeks at No. 1.

Why it matters: The Hot 100 combines U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales, making it the main measure of song popularity in the United States. The Rodrigo remix also helped her album return to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Billboard reported.
