Indonesia trims pipeline gas exports to Singapore
Indonesia began reducing pipeline gas exports to Singapore on Saturday, diverting the gas to meet domestic electricity needs, CNA and The Straits Times reported.
Singapore's Energy Market Authority (EMA) said the reduction amounts to less than 2% of the country's total daily gas demand and that contingency plans, imported liquefied natural gas and fuel reserves can cover it.
Why it matters: Singapore generates most of its electricity from natural gas, so supply moves by its neighbor are closely watched.
