Japan urges US to enforce troop discipline after another Marine is arrested in Okinawa

The curfew was imposed on US forces in Okinawa after a woman was killed last month; another Marine has been indicted on a murder charge in that case, CNA reported. Koizumi said Tokyo asked Washington to prevent a recurrence and ensure full compliance with the nighttime curfew. Kihara called Saturday's incident "regrettable," Kyodo reported.

Why it matters: Okinawa hosts many US military bases, and the cases have renewed controversy over the size of the US military presence on the island, CNA reported.
