Chainalysis says AI-assisted hacker accessed some customer names and emails

The company said it has found no sign that investigation content, passwords in clear text or session tokens were accessed, and that the incident is not related to the Binance hack, The Block and Cointelegraph reported. Chainalysis did not say how many customers were affected.

Chainalysis said it has hired outside cybersecurity experts and advised customers to turn on two-factor authentication.

Why it matters: Chainalysis is widely used by investigators and exchanges to trace stolen crypto, including funds from the Binance theft, so a breach of its own systems draws close scrutiny.
