Russian drone strike on Dnipro train station kills at least 14, Ukrainian officials say
A jet-powered drone struck a platform at Dnipro's main station where a passenger train bound for Zaporizhzhia was standing, Ukraine's state railway operator Ukrzaliznytsia said, according to the BBC and DW. Regional head Oleksandr Hanzha said at least 14 people were killed and at least 14 others wounded, including an 11-year-old boy. The railway said an elevated threat alert had been issued, but many people were still on the platform. Ukraine's air force said it intercepted three drones in the attack and a fourth hit the station, DW reported.
Ukrainian officials also said a missile killed two 15-year-old girls in Chernihiv and a drone killed three people in Kremenchuk on the same day, the BBC and CBS News reported. Russia's military did not comment publicly; Moscow denies deliberately targeting civilians and says its strikes on railways target military logistics, the BBC reported.
Why it matters: The strikes came as a local truce in occupied Oleshky held, the BBC and CBS News reported.
